Choosing a Cheerleading Shoe
Determine the types of cheer routines your team will be performing. Stunts, flips and tumbling dictate a different type of athletic shoe than routines comprised primarily of dancing.
Determine your price range. With athletic shoes, as with most things in life, you generally get what you pay for. Cheaper shoes may look the same as their more expensive cousins, but the real cost may come later when they have to be replaced because they are unable to take the constant pounding of jumps and stunts throughout the year.
Try the shoes on both feet. Walk around in the shoes on a hard surface. Shoes respond differently on concrete and wood than they do on the carpeted surface of many shoe stores. You need to know how they feel on your feet in the environment in which you will be performing.
